Quinn and Rose back on local radio Sept. 24

I see where Quinn and Rose are returning to Pittsburgh radio on September 24.

They will be on WBGG from 8-10AM Weekdays. Obviously they're buying the time.
I find it interesting that WBGG is willing to ditch the Golic and Wingo morning show for this.
I'd suspect that will not sit will with their ESPN affiliation agreement.

Is 970 about to dump sports-talk for another format?

Quinn is already doing a show on WAVL 910 Apollo. From 6 am to 9 am.will he continue that show. Or will the last hour be on both stations?

And will he continue with the subscription paid stream?
What if you are a Pittsburgh subscriber and the show is now available free over-the-air?

970 will still be carrying Golic and Wingo from 6-8AM, so the effect on their ESPN affiliation should be zero. The long term goal might be to put Q&R on 1320 where iHeart parked the rest of the former 104.7 talk shows.

The country format on 104.7 isn't setting the world on fire, but its only real objective is probably to hurt Y108, which it has done.

I suspect this is the bbeginning of a longer play regarding conservative talk in the market.

WBGG stream is running ESPN sports (iHeart Radio) but Q&R are apparently on (I'm not in area). Would think this is because Quinn charges for streaming/podcasts so he's confining signal to local over the air, other than his own streaming

They were definitely on OTA on 970 this morning. I did not check my iHeart app.

For the last 2 mornings I have noticed that 970 has gone back to the ESPN programming.
Is Quinn on vacation, or is the experiment over?

This whole new incarnation seemed little more than a teaser for stream subscriptions anyhow.
