Quinn and Rose contract dispute?

http://www.post-gazette.com/ae/tv-r...-offer-Quinn-Tennent-say/stories/201408290198

>>Conservative radio hosts Jim Quinn and Rose Tennent, formerly of WPGB 104.7 FM, have said they turned down an offer to be hosts on the newly reconfigured WJAS-AM (1320), but the station’s ownership would not confirm their statement.

“Note: we have declined the offer from WJAS. Terms offered precluded our ability to live stream to our audience which was essential,” the duo posted Thursday on their Twitter account (@warroom). On Friday, they wrote and then deleted a similar tweet. Frank Iorio, owner of Radio Partners LLC, which purchased the station earlier this month, said Friday that the company had been negotiating with the pair for months and that their statement about the live-stream was not true.

How could they not stream to their aduience? is'nt WJAS on i heart? Something does not sound right. if they truly cared about their listeners and wanted to get back on the air, then this seem like a way to do it. i heart is probally the largest and most promoted streaming in the world. Come on Quinn, tell the truth! What was the real reason?

Since WJAS streams on IHeart already, does this refer to Quinn demanding exclusive rights to stream his show on a subscription basis as a source of revenue?

Maybe...they definitely stream on iHeart and iHeart only. Iorio said the following on a facebook group (UNOFFICIAL) that I set up for WJAS:

FRANK IORIO:
>>The story is not true! Q&R were to be on I-Heart live. Why they would say streaming was essential for their audience and then not wanting to be on I-Heart is because they wanted to be able to charge their listners a fee. They wanted to make more money for people to listen to the show.

From the Quinn and Rose ping list on free republic:
SNEAKERS:
>>I don’t understand all this. They were streaming before, on WPGB, and also had a members area for a fee. You could still download podcasts even if you were not a paying member and of course the streaming was available on the station website. I don’t understand what benefits you got for being a paying member.
Yes, I’m confused. Sounds like they just have Q&R and Iorio have their wires crossed somewhere?
I was never a paying member, and I have a number of their programs still on my mp3 player and on my computer that I downloaded - all for free. I streamed their show live from WPGB. It was always free to stream. Maybe they are talking about streaming directly from the warroom, but that would make no sense if WJAS had a live stream via CC. I can’t remember what the paying members got for their money. Maybe p6 and PaMom will remember.

Another member of the list said that the hangup may be over syndication and satellite radio but he isn't sure if that is
reliable or not.

JIM QUINN says on his site:

While on vacation it has come to my attention that a tweet of mine has caused somemisunderstanding. Upon re-reading it , I can see that it could be misleading. I wrote itwhile I was in a rush and leaving for vacation(don’t try this at home folks). Please allow me to set the record st
straight:Frank Iorio did indeed talk with us about doing the show on his station WJAS. HeDID offer to stream it live on I Heart Radio. However, I desired to stream it exclusively onWarroom.com.In the end, It was my decision to take my brand; “The Warroom” in a different direction.Streaming on I Heart did not fit into the business model I had in mind for the show.We ended our talks amicably with each party wishing the other great success. We sincerely wish Frank the very best. Rose has said on several occasions that Frank Ioriorescued talk radio in Pittsburgh and gave it a home, and I agree. As soon as I get back from vacation — I will wrap up all the loose ends and have moreinformation for you in terms of the direction of “The Warroom”.I hope I was able to clear this up for you,

It's quite simple to me.
AM signals just don't penetrate buildings like FM signals do. Streaming is necessary to come somewhat close to what he had pre-contract-dispute. Since Quinn had a disagreement with Clear Channel why would he consent to being streamed on their stream? They could pull the plug on him at their whim. He's got his following at his stream, the Warroom site.
Frank Iorio has two choices: either go with what Clear Channel is sending him or accomodate Quinn. Even though CC does not own WJAS how much autonomy does Iorio have over his product? If he brings Quinn in will CC pitch a hissy fit and pull their content?
