Quinn & Cantara re-up

From All Access, Quinn & Cantara re-up their night show with HJY & will continue to be heard on WGIR & WHEB. Maybe bad for the job markets in Manchester & Portsmouth but good for Providence. HJY continues the tradition of personalities who do actual "shows".

Q & C really should slide over to the 3-7 slot and get rid of the WGIR/WHEB simulcast. I believe their also on a third New Hampshire affililate, 101.7 in the New London area (I forget the calls). Let's face it, Charles' show is basically done, and if Q & C were to be truly local, plus maybe HJY tweaks its playlist so it doesn't sound like so much of a classic rock station, HJY could once again be a front-running rock station. WMMR/Philadelphia has had somewhat of a renaissance in the past year or two, why not HJY?

I just hate this whole idea of the Clear Channel New England rock network. If you look at the All Access charts for WHJY, WHEB and WGIR, they all look almost exactly the same. So much for local.

They're pretty entertaining and I give'em props for the amount of prep they probably do for a non morning drive show. It would be hard for them to do their schtick in PM drive and run it on the other stations. I wonder what kind of backlash there would be if they ever cut Charles loose. VROOM VROOM VROOM VROOM

I was in the car last night (Monday) listening to Q & C. Around 10:15pm they were talking about the morning show
at their flagship station in Providence. Now it was NOT anything bad. So the folks over at the flagship station have nothing to worry about. Even though their comments aired. It was funny. I'm not gonna say what they said specifically, because you just had to hear it yourself. But I will say this. You have a morning & night show. That rarely see each other. But there will be times outside of radio when you'll see a fellow co-worker. And say a polite hello.....

I've only listened to these guys a handful of times for short spurts in the past. However I was in the car for a while Wednesday night and listened for about an hour. They had me cracking up. It usually takes a lot for me to think a show is funny. But I have to say that these guys passed the test. Good music and fun conversation. These are good dudes. I like them.

I can tolerate them in small doses. One reason I like them, is the Michael Savage technique, not politically correct.

Glen Beck, he talks and talks repeats himself, when, he could just have a couple of complete sentences and get to what he is talking about.

He is boring.
