Quinn reported to be expanding his syndication reach.

As more and more marginally performing CCU AMs toss local talent to cut costs for their new private overlords, you'll see more Quinn & Rose rollouts. Quinn has a nearly unique position as a right-wing friendly morning show that can easily accomodate as little or as much local news/weather/traffic content as they can handle.

He's also being added to WVOM in Maine on January 2nd.

I've listened to about 10 of their shows total in the past 3 months, and I think I'll stop here. I don't mind the right-wing talking points, but it feels like wacky zoo meets political talk. What's with all the production and bad parody songs? It feels like they should be playing the [EDIT]

What's with all the production and bad parody songs?

It's an attempt to create "wacky zoo meets political talk" environment. Though, I don't know what song parodies you're referring to. Only a very few of Quinn's "heads-up themes" are parodies, such as "Bomb Iran". The rest are straight, ordinary songs. They aren't parodies. Some of them weren't hits, but they're mostly all just regular songs.

Re: the edit of livingfruitvirus's post.

The edit took out a copyrighted title of the song. I submit that the edit should be replaced.

Well today I heard three. Bomb Iran was one, another was his animal rights alert one sung by "Ozzy Fudd," another was a Christmas song that escapes me. And I recognize the non-parody songs, like the big brother segment intro.

Well today I heard three.

Where I come from, three is a "few".

2 = a couple
3 to 5 = a few
5 to 7 = some

And, by Al Yankovic's definition or parody, songs in the style of another artist that aren't funny new words to an existing tune, like Ozzy Fudd's "Kill The Wabbit", aren't parodies. They're simple "funny songs".

Perhaps the Christmas song that escaped you was "Walkin' Round in Women's Underwear".

I submit that the edit should be replaced.

I submit that censoring such things is even more offensive. I think that [EDIT]

...and he lands another one.
The new WYTS in Columbus will be carrying his show starting Jan 2nd 6-9 AM.

Will be interesting to see if the changing politcal landscape does anything to his numbers either way. If the Dems are in any way, shape or form successful how many shows like Quinn might dry up and blow away?

Some right wing talk shows might fail, because some shows always fail. But it won't be because the Democrats have a majority in Congress.

Unless, and this is an ultra-long shot, the Democrats pass legislation to restore the so-called "fairness" doctrine. That will kill all political talk radio as we currently know it.

Right wing talk shows thrived throughout the 8 years of the Clinton era, so why would it change now?

Because some people are starting to see through the hysteria. On both sides.

Funny you should mention the Fairness Doctrine. I don't think anyone in Washington is smart enough to use it as the ultimate political neutron bomb and this FCC would certainly find a way to screw up enforcement, but if they did the repercussions for radio and the conservative movement would be staggering.
