Quinn

Refresh my memory, is Quinn's 9AM hour always a rerun of an earlier hour from that day?

I am reminded of that because I drove past him on I-79 about 9:15AM yesterday while his show was still on the air... (and the car and license plate leave NO doubt that it's him..)

For as long as I remember. When he was on WRRK, his show ended at 9. When he moved over, he must have decided to keep it that way.

I'm not sure why 104.7 just doesnt air the 3rd hour of Glen Beck instead of replaying something from a few hours earlier from 9-10.

It might have something to do with that being his flagship and all. But it also seems like Glenn Beck is wildly popular in Pittsburgh, so I think it could go either way.

I innitially thought 6-9 was his syndicated portion of the show. 9-10 was the "Pittsburgh" hour. I agree. Why not run the first hour of Beck?

Yes, from 9 to 10 is a rerun of the first hour. How did you recognize his license plate? His ham radio callsign or does it say "warroom"? ;D

What's he driving these days? Last time I saw Quinn behind the wheel, it was a brown Datsun 280ZX circa 1983. I guess that dates me, huh?

It's been a long ride for "our leader" on KQV in 1967. We took the ride to watch submarines, drink garlic milkshakes, a voted in a poll to see if ABC would make him get a hair-cut. Now he is just another low rent talk radio homophobe. Got news for you Jimbo. HIV/AIDS infections are rising faster in straight people than in gay people.

You obviously never listened to an episode of his show on 104.7 to spew that sort of crap. Now, go hug a tree or something.

"Jim Quinn - today's worst person in the world...."

Wow. How droll. And original, too.

Such intellectual curiosity and agility. And the evidence for your claim that Jim Quinn is a "homophobe?" Kindly provide us with a precise example. One would do.

One which is not regurgitated Keith Olberman diatribes or other examples of the falsehoods endlessly claimed for Quinn by his lefty critics.

As far as "HIV/AIDS infections are rising faster in straight people than in gay people..." Your point here is.....???

It is my considered opinion that quoting Keith Olbermann qualifies the quoter as being the new "worst person in the world".

I worked with Quinn at three radio stations in this town. He's one of the good guys. Agree with him or not, but don't be such a close-minded tart about it. As of this writing, free speech hasn't been silenced yet, for Quinn or an Olbermann bootlicker like you.

1) Thanks. Haven't been called a tart in years.

2) Check the Washington Blade archives for an article about Quinn's comments about Gay people and health insurance.

3) Check with your local AIDS Service Organization for statistics. I worked for one once as a counselor and tester.

4) In 1967, the Mighty Quinn was our leader, today it's the Mighty Olbermann. I just need a strong male media figure for a leader. If you lived in Pittsburgh in 1967, ABC showcased Quinn as a long-haired rebel. KQV had hair rules for it's DJ's and the promotion was that Quinn was the first to publically stand up to the rules.

Hmm, I thought the Olbermann reference was kinda funny. Since Olbermann, much like "talking heads" on the other side of the philosophical fence, makes comments others regurgitate at the water cooler, it was relatable.

Thanks. Remember how The comedian Rush Limbough (AKA Jeff Christie) introduced terms like 'Feminazis" and Dittoheads"? Keith is just doing the same thing. See how posters on this Board in many cities just use Billo instead of his full name. I like Keith because as I said a long time ago, he is on my side of the issues and like so many conservative talking heads emboldend by the past 8 years of unmitagated success, Keith doesn't " Give a rats ass" . Sure I like Jon Stewart , Stephen Colbert, and Chris Matthews--------but Keith takes it home like nobody else. I was a big Quinn fan in 1967 . Times change.

Again, thanks for the "tart" logo. Makes me feel like I'm back in the 18-34 demos again and riding up and down Murray Ave. blasting the "Groovey QV". Maybe Porky and Clark Race too after school. Nothing like a big soggy pizza at Mineo's and a midnight corned beef nosh at Weinstein's. Go on a date to the Manor. What a life for an 18-34 Tart.
