Quit listening no RMS today..or for awhile..

No, he won't be on, but they're busy mounting his defense by replaying this BS about how the antidepressant Welbruton makes him testy. ::)

So how will this play out? Will they claim he'd taken too much or not enough or was off his meds too long and that combined with the stress of the audit made him do it? He always gives people a hard time that screw up and ask to get off easy i.e. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, can I go now?" Bet he won't be singing the same song this time.

I highly doubt that ANYTHING said on air would be used to mount a defense of any kind

Seems that would open the door to other bits and cancel out the whole 'theater of the mind" thing...

Here's the thing, Russ is going to want to leave anything and everything from the show out of the courtroom, even stuff that could help him because the stuff that could hurt him is more damning.

Can anyone tell me how the RMS ever got to be popular? I moved to DFW in 2000, and he was king of the ratings book then. I tried listening for two weeks, but it was incredibly boring. If he stubbed his toe, that's all he'd talk about for 3 days. And his sidekicks laughing like idiots at nearly everything he said made it even worse. I can't believe this guy even had a talk show, let alone used to be top rated in his time slot.

Can anyone explain why this show was ever a hit? It's a mystery to me.

So, if this is all true...and Russ is being audited by the IRS and loses everything, including his show, does that mean that Dan Lewis got the last laugh?

I was just thinking the same thing uwf234. And that would truly suck because lets face it, Dan Lewis is a sack of s in his own right. :-[

Did you people really believe that he was gonna be on today.. I wish he would have been but, come on.. He won't be back on for a while.. At least not untill his Grand Jury Hearing , how ever long that takes..

Thats sucks..

I just feel sorry or Dan, Cloe and JD...And all the others that work on the show.

I feel bad for JD because I think he is a nice guy and has been with Russ for sooo long. I do not feel bad for Dan and Clo though because they are "yes men" to Russ. Does anyone know why Russ and Dan Lewis got into it? After Eddie left, the show was never the same. Clo is too much of an alchie to me.

Again, there is no grand jury in this case. Russ has already been arrested and charged with a crime. A grand jury is only seated when someone hasn't been charged with a crime. The police and prosecution investigate the crime and bring their evidence in front of the grand jury. Based on the cursory evidence presented, the grand jury decides whether or not charges brought against a defendant are likely to result in a conviction. The prosecuting authority then uses the grand jury's verdict as a decision for or against filing criminal charges.

Russ's next court appearance will be his arraignment hearing, then a trial date is set, a regular jury is seated, and court proceedings begin. It could be a year or more before a jury is seated for the case, if it even makes it that far.
