Quit listening no RMS today..or for awhile..

Neal, I'm with you on this. I don't believe it'll ever come down to a jury as too much would be revealed about Russ's true character. I'm betting on a plea bargain and some probation, not to mention losing the CHL and the house and show.

Did you people really believe that he was gonna be on today.. I wish he would have been but, come on.. He won't be back on for a while.. At least not untill his Grand Jury Hearing , how ever long that takes..

Thats sucks..

Again, there is no grand jury in this case. Russ has already been arrested and charged with a crime. A grand jury is only seated when someone hasn't been charged with a crime. The police and prosecution investigate the crime and bring their evidence in front of the grand jury. Based on the cursory evidence presented, the grand jury decides whether or not charges brought against a defendant are likely to result in a conviction. The prosecuting authority then uses the grand jury's verdict as a decision for or against filing criminal charges.

Russ's next court appearance will be his arraignment hearing, then a trial date is set, a regular jury is seated, and court proceedings begin. It could be a year or more before a jury is seated for the case, if it even makes it that far.

You know I was thinking the same thing.. But, you know how the news is..

Agreed. He'll probably plead guilty, in exchange for lighter punishment. Now if he pleads not guilty, then we can reasonably expect a trial.

Good lord don't throw Dan Lewis up....
And Cloe is an Alchy but Entertainment is Entertainment and I dont recall a DWI charge.

Well, if he pleads not guilty there's a 100% chance of a trial. If we have a trial I won't be surprised if someone files a change of venue request on the grounds that Russ can't get a fair trial in the metroplex based on his very public stature.

From what I understand, and I have worked with both of these men separately, and heard both sides of the story off air personally, this is what it came down to.

Dan was Russ's producer for many years. Russ is not an easy guy to work for, and it finally got to Dan when Dan asked Russ for some time away from the show following is Father-in-law's passing (it might have been grandfather-in-law) so that he could attend the funeral. According to Dan, this was the straw that broke the camel's back.

One night, I believe it to be the KYNG Christmas Party, Dan's wife Laura went up to the then PD, Bob McNeil and told him that Dan needs his own show. This made Russ furious, and told Bob to give Dan his show so that he could fail. Whether Russ had a hand in Dan's firing, who knows. Ultimately, Russ and Dan tried reconciling a few times, but with two huge egos, nothing could be done.

When Dan would find a gig anywhere, Russ would make fun of Dan verbally on the air, and listeners would call Dan's show and reticule him. When Dan was at 990 Mainstreet/Texas Talk Radio, Russ sent the dogs after Dan again, and when Dan went to Victoria, he sent them after him again, even eluding to getting a bus load of people together and sending the show down there for a day.

Dan has accused Russ costing him jobs in radio, and Russ has denied that on the air many times...but who knows.

He'll pay her off for part of it but I don't think he can get rid of the deadly waepons charge. DA takes over on felony charges and the plaintiff has no say.

No...no clue to the Eddie Boyd thing. The only thing that I know is that one Monday, Eddie's stuff was gone. No note, nothing. One could assume many things...but that's all it is, asumptions.

I would be embarrased if My wife came up to my boss and asked for a show of my own.

Anybody else see WFAA's 5:00 coverage of this on Monday? They were showing a picture of Dan Lewis during the voice-over implying it was Russ. They showed it at least twice. Insult to injury...

Karma is a B**** isn't it?

Russ deserves what he gets. Maybe the reason why he does so much charity work is that he feels so guilty for being so ugly to people. Sure, we all laugh when he sicks his dogs on Dan Lewis, but that's Dan's lively-hood.

Clo is a nice guy. He's been in radio a long time. I'm sure he'll be okay. Maybe JD will get a gig in Margaritaville.

I hope they put something on for the afternoon drive soon. I'm dyin on my way home from work and I can't stand to listen to RMS. He just sounds like a big old hypocrite now. Yeah, BDH from 10-7 then 10-whatever. Ugh. He's cool, but come on.

That was, as is everything else about thr RMS show, a lie. Eddie did not clear his stuff out in the middle of the night. He left, and Russ milked it as a bit. Just like everything else on the show, Edie's departure was fake. He really left, but it was under normal circumstances, and Russ used it as another way to exploit the listening audience. That is why I stopped listening to the RMS show-he tried to come across as an everyday Joe, but everything was just so fake.

I expect it will be a no contest plea if it comes to that. That would protect him in any possible civil trial from admission of guilt.

Well I think CBS has to give Russ the opportunity to answer to the allegations in a court of law just like every other US citizen has the right to. Then after the case is adjudicated they can proceed from there. This may violate something in his contract if he is convicted, sponsors would probably back off very quickly, etc.

Bottem line,if CBS continues to support Russ they will fall from favor. Thats common sence. Wonder where Gavin will wind up?

Do you know why Eddie left?

Eddie left for personal reasons concerning his beliefs and conflict with family time. He went back to teaching last I heard. I was in the building when he left.
