Quit listening no RMS today..or for awhile..

Can anyone tell me how the RMS ever got to be popular? I moved to DFW in 2000, and he was king of the ratings book then. I tried listening for two weeks, but it was incredibly boring. If he stubbed his toe, that's all he'd talk about for 3 days. And his sidekicks laughing like idiots at nearly everything he said made it even worse. I can't believe this guy even had a talk show, let alone used to be top rated in his time slot.

Can anyone explain why this show was ever a hit? It's a mystery to me.

Neal, I'm with you on this. I don't believe it'll ever come down to a jury as too much would be revealed about Russ's true character. I'm betting on a plea bargain and some probation, not to mention losing the CHL and the house and show.

Agreed. He'll probably plead guilty, in exchange for lighter punishment. Now if he pleads not guilty, then we can reasonably expect a trial.

Well, if he pleads not guilty there's a 100% chance of a trial. If we have a trial I won't be surprised if someone files a change of venue request on the grounds that Russ can't get a fair trial in the metroplex based on his very public stature.

He can plead no contest to a weapons charge too. As far as the civil trial, I was speaking to the possibility that Amy could sue him civily for damages but his plea could not be used as an admission of guilt if it was no contest.

The IRS has nothing to do with this pending charge, so I'm not sure why you brought that up.

You haven't read the affidvait very closely. The IRS stuff is what got this whole thing started. Russ allegedly beat up Amy because he wasn't happy with her not following up with some material Russ was probably asked to supply to the feds. He should have beat himself up for not doing the follow up himself. That's why I brought up the IRS stuff.

A conviction or being cleared of charges won't have any affect on the IRS "stuff". That is my point.

In legal matters you can plead down or make deals but when the IRS has it in for you, your options become REAL limited
