Qwest TV, You aren't doing it right

So, watching my Qwest cable, and every 5 minutes, I get an ear piercing 10 second long siren (seems that long), and a big blue bar warning "SEVERE WEATHER ALERT" or something like that, and instructions to go to channel 999 immediately for details.

But, nothing on 999, but ads for Qwest service. And I checked numerous times. Kudos for warnings, but bad form not to do it right.

Oh joy, I can't wait for a disaster.... ::)

You already have one. It's called "Qwest." ;D

Actually, they did run a scroll (NWS Advisory) across the top of 999 every 3 minutes or so. It just wasn't well coordinated with the general warning on the regular channels.

I just turned to KPHO's weather subchannel on Qwest channel 64. They show the radar continuously during severe weather.

I live in far North Phoenix and wasn't affected by any of the storms. We did get a strong wind gust or two but nothing else.

BTW, I was informed by a Qwest Customer Service agent that Qwest TV is going away over the next 2 years. Direct TV will be the only choice to get bundle savings through Qwest. :mad:
