R.I.P. Coop

I cannot believe there is nothing on this board about the passing of Mark Cooper. Cooper died Sunday after suffering another stroke. I worked with Mark briefly.... he was a good guy. He is a Hudson Valley legend and will be missed.

Ah man!!!!

This is very sad!!!!!!!!!!

I know the GM of WPDH,im gonna email and express my concerns!!

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!!!

@ RadioGuy..... you are correct, he passed today. I had followed another link that allegedly quoted Andrew Boris and that article said he passed Sunday.

I wonder when he had the stroke. I had noticed he had not been on the air the past few weeks. Robin had been doing the show with someone else. At first I thought he was on vacation. But as his absence continued I began to wonder, but never remembered to post a question about it. Though I was sometimes critical of his show, it in no way reflected upon him as a human being. R.I.P. Coop.
edit: Here is the Poughkeepsie Journal article on Marks passing. Boris is quoted as saying he had the stroke on Sunday and died Wednesday. He had been ill before that , as I said he had not been on the air for a few weeks.

They are doing a nice celebration of Coop's life right now on WPDH. It features some of his best classic bits, including some with John Tobin. Robin is reading some listener remembrances posted on Facebook, along with some of his favorite songs.

What a tragic loss. I missed recording this show this morning, but I hope if you have an aircheck of Mark Cooper's tribute, please let me know. Thanks!

I hope maybe Jack Hammer will be Coop's replacement on WPDH, but I hope the station needs a new morning show. As you know, Jack Hammer does a great job on WKXP/WZAD's "The Wolf" from 2009 until 2012 when he left the station to make way for CJ. Jack first started on WBPM in early 2007 with Andre until he left in 2009 where it was replaced by Robinson & Shannon which was also replaced by Bob Miller. Let's hope if Jack Hammer should get a new morning show to replace Coop.

Im listening to the show right now......Truly quite sad.... He was with WPDH for many years and was loved by all!

@ Disney....WPDH is in the same cluster as The Wolf....in fact the two studios are literally right across the hallway from each other. Jack didn't leave to make way for CJ, he was released by Cumulus to clear salary, in the same fashion Gary Cee was released as PD of WPDH. They most likely wouldn't call Jack to come back, but I suppose anything's possible.

Disney, For the love of God, How about you show some respect and just this once stay on topic. Let the man at least be buried before speculating about who will fill his spot.

I hope so, but maybe it's just a rumor mill if you can call it. I hope if you want to tune in this morning at 6:00 and you will hear an announcement on who is going to take over Coop's spot in morning starting this Monday on WPDH, but I don't think it's Jack Hammer, but it's going to be something else. Will have to find out today.

I think its still TOO EARLY disney to wonder who is going to replace him!!

Everyone @ WPDH is quite sad and I wouldnt be surprised if NO ONE replaced him for awhile.... (And they ran things w/o a main morning host)
