R.I.P. ERNEST BORGNINE (AT AGE 95)

Wow, 95. He seemed very alert and active in his recent TV appearances.
I believe he and Tim Conway were still voicing those characters on Spongebob.

Must be something in the Italian DNA. My uncle's father-in-law who immigrated
here from Italy just passed away a few days shy of 100. His 96 year old Italian
bride is still alive and kickin'.

RIP and congrats for a life well lived. I saw Borgnine in a recent film (can't think of the title)- I remember being surprised he was still around, and thinking he looked about 75 - certainly not 95.

I missed this one somehow.

I hated the show because they put it in place of "Gilligan's Island". And yet i must have watched because I have fond memories of Joe Flynn.

A friend claims he heard that before he died, Ernest Borgnine had agreed to guest-host "Saturday Night Live" sometime this coming season.

If that's true, it would have been "must-see TV".

Borgnine seemed to be blessed with a sound mind and good health until just before his death. We should all be so lucky. I don't think I ever saw him in real life that he wasn't smiling. Maybe that is the secret.
