Aircheck of his May 6, 2012 show. I think this may have been his last time in the studio and on the air. He was out ill for the May 13, 2012 show, I didn't get a recording of the May 20, 2012 Sunday Classics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tl0N8RPPPso
One of my Idols.... I worked with Hal, with Herman Amis, Steele Colony, Charlie Green at WNJR in the 7O's as a salesman. What a long and wonderous life to be celebrated. The illustrious Hal Jackson.... As Soul Jock he is one of my inspirations and ranks with my other former co-workers and or admirees, Scotty Andrews, WHYH, Rick Roberts - KYOK, Houston, Frankie Crocker, WBLS, Jerry Boulding and Al Gee and all of the rest of those truly great Soul Jocks. It was a great pleasue to grow up listening to Hal Jackson not knowing that I would also work with him too. What a great broadcaster and humanitarian..... and a superb role model... I celebrate him as I will miss HIM... SUPER SOUL JOCK--- HAL JACKSON.... Remember.... there is no such thing as Ol' Skool.... there's only the Soul School.... AND HE WAS A GREAT TEACHER AND A GREAT SOUL.... Long live Hal Jackson... and long live SOUL MUSIC!!!
