The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that Richmond radio legend Harvey Hudson passed away at a local hospital Sunday. He was 88. Harvey's 70-year radio career included stints at WRVA, WLEE (where he was morning man from 1946-1972), WRNL and WZEZ. Harvey also served as VP/GM of WLEE and WXEX-TV. He later was a founding partner of TVX Broadcasting Group.

Oh my, I remember Harvey Hudson (and Lud Sterling) waking me up on my Westinghouse clock radio all through high school (Thomas Dale) in the 60s. I thought he was old at the time, but he was a great personality and the voice of WLEE, the big top 40 in RIC for many years. I never knew he was associated with WXEX, though the two stations where co-owned. God rest Harvey's soul.
