R.I.P. "How will this affect Q100?"

Yeah, but it just won't be the same....I say, bury it (or at least temporarily retire it).

So apparently Cumulus will have 2 ATL stations with some form of 100 in their moniker.

I guess the Dickeys have always wanted Q100 to beat Star and are still determined to have Q100--not Q99-7--take Star in the ratings.

This might make for some confusion at Arbitron until Atlanta gets the PPM.

A number of things are at play here.
Cumulus is gearing up for a PPM world, and they've already seen the monster ratings their CHR/Pop outlet in Houston, heritage 104 KRBE, gets. They're hoping to replicate that success in Atlanta. They know that with the 99.7 signal they can DOUBLE the cume for WWWQ. The signal comes in crystal clear both in the downtown offices, and in the far flung suburbs that continue to grow by leaps and bounds.
I believe the move to 99.7 will greatly affect Q-100 in an extremely positive manner.

I think that as long as the confusion is within the Cumulus family, they'll deal with it short-term. Cumulus is most definitely in this for the long haul.

The Q summer book should explode.

Re: Q100----Wonder whatever happened to Slaphappy?

Or HappySlappy or whatever his name was that frequented this board a while back. Before he was run off by some very crabby board members, he was always Q's biggest cheerleader. Slappy always said Q would grow up to be a real radio station some day. In fact he might have been the reason the "how will it....." phrase was invented. I'm sure he's basking in a warm afterglow right now.

they are just copying clear channel now.

how will this affect viva?
