R.I.P. Mark Spoon :(

Truly a sad day for fans of Progressive, Trance, and Euro, as Dance legend Mark Spoon was found dead earlier this week.
He was one half of the act Jam & Spoon, who back in 92 released a remix to "Age of Love", which went to become one of the biggest underground Dance hits of all time. This was one of the pioneering tracks of the Progressive House and Trance movement. There were many great remixes to "Age of Love" later on, including an excellent Johnny Vicious remix in 98, but it's the Mark & Spoon remix that Dance fans cherish and remember the most.
Jam & Spoon also helped usher in the "Ibiza sound" with their classic track "Stella".

In 1993 Jam & Spoon collaborated with Plavka on the hit "Right On The Night", which went on to become a huge Dance and Pop record across Europe. Two of my personal favorite Jam & Spoon records came out a couple of years later called "Find Me", and a couple of years after that came out "Don't Call It Love". In more recent times they had released records like "Set Me Free", and "Be Angeled".

So Mark, thanks for the music that made all those magical clubnights so special. You will be missed.

This is a sad day, I cant beleive he died. Jam & Spoon was one of my favorite acts back in the 90s, I remember their classics like Right in the Night, find me, and Stella. And like Chrles said, they had a unique sound, which eventually translated into the Progressive movement. My Prayers are with Marks Family and friends. BTW,,,How old was he, and did he die of natural causes, or what/ He was way too young to go, thats for sure.

WOW :(

And just today, I was playing "Find Me" on my iPod. Very tragic indeed. And my age too :(

This link is in German, but if you have a browser that does translation, you can read the German Wikipedia of his bio

Actually...try this English translated link of the page to see if it works..

It looks like the news spreads fast. Trance.nu is all over this. they mention that Mark was only 41 years old, and died of a heart attack:
