R.I.P. Shop-at-Home Network - Again

JTV, or Jewelry Television, is another shop-at-home network, specializing in, what else? jewelry.

JTV used to be the ACN shopping network.

Yeah about a million years ago. ;D Anyway most listings for WRDM-LP/50 in Hartford has America's Collectibles listed for 12AM-630AM rather than Jewelry TV. Meanwhile as of 12/28/07 COX has moved JTV from Analog Channel 67 to Digital Channel 71. (Leased Access). That was something I have yet to figure out. Why did COX move Leased Access to digital only? And why 71, 72, 73, and 74? (Formerly Analog 67 & 96).

What is "leased access"?

Leased Access is where the cable company sells time on a (or several) channels to anyone with the $$$$$. Everyone from your local car dealership to the local evangelical church to national home shopping networks buy time on these stations.

In most places, this channel shares time with the Community Bulletin Board. In others, a national infomercial network or home shopping network (JTV, ShopNBC, etc.) is used for filler. In Atlanta, Comcast runs 3 (22/TV Superstore and Gems TV, 26 or 19/Real Estate Listings with local time, digital 150/local time, 26 and 150 use infomercials as filler).

This channel (at least one) is an FCC requirement for cable systems with more than 35 channels.

MyTSN in Evansville still shows S@H all night on the program grid for next week. I wouldn't be too surprised if they keep their receivers on the same transponder and air whatever shows up :p

I ment to say its not listed in the program guid as shop@ home channel it listed as DTV when i do the ifon lookup on the channel on directv.
