R.I.P. Tom Keith

Tom Keith, who revived the art form of radio sound effects, died Sunday of a heart attack at age 64. He has been the primary sound effects man on 'A Prairie Home Companion' since it began (he never traveled so Fred Newman does the sound effects when the show is on the road, and I imagine will now take over for Keith). His audio effects were a work of radio art - thanks for the great memories! His cat meow would always have our cat looking around the room for another cat!

I was still in church when the show began this week, and I only heard part of the show, but there were some great sound effects in what I did hear. How did they handle his death?

They are doing a tribute to Tom Keith today on APHC
