R.I. radio - circa 1960

Greetings from the desert! A long-lost native of Rhode Island with a request for the group regulars.

Mom & Dad will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this upcoming December. I'd like to put together a small bit of 'radio' nostalgia for them. The library of music I mostly have covered. They met in '59 and were married in Warwick in '60; dad was the sailor who blew in...another story for another time. ;D Anyway, here's my shopping list:

(1) Pointer to any web pages of Rhode Island/New England radio history. A handful of liners, sweepers and the like from that era would really be cool...I did stumble onto the pages of WBRU - great start, if I need to, but that begs the question;

(2) What other stations were the movers and shakers of that era? I can tell you that my grandmother (mom's mother) was really big into 'currents' of the time; that's probably what was being listened to. WPRO I can definitely remember one of their mid- to late-60's jingles vividly; any other stations that might have been the 'in' station to listen to in the late 50s & early 60s?

(3) Late 1960 - any songs that were hot in that region that I really should be on the lookout for that might make it?

If this forum isn't appropriate, a link to where it would be appropriate would be appreciated.

Thanks for any help & info; looking forward to your replies. Additional info can also be sent to my Y! address; same screen name as here. Please use same subj. line if you would.

The other 'in' station back then was WICE (1290 AM). 'King' Arthur Knight, who I hear is still living in the area, was a dominant personality after arriving from Pennsylvania in early 1962...also at WICE was Blaine Harvey, Paul Revere (not his real name, of course), Bob DiCarlo, etc.

Check out this link for an aircheck of the guy known as Paul Revere (scroll up to the second entry on the page):
