R. Inconfidencia 15190khz Brazil

Here's something for you radio nerds, me included.. I love hearing legal id's or as they're called in Brazil, prefixo/indicativo de frequencia and Radio Inconfidencia runs them, mentioning their calls, frequencies and city of license.

The signal is so good at times, I don't just make a logging and a short recording, I get a good length aircheck. Take a listen here, audio is from late September:

All recorded over the air here in alaska

Any chatter you akin to Charlie Brown Womp womp is form NHK Japan on 15195 transmitting from Japan at the same time.

Transequatorial propagation tends to be somewhat enhanced around the equinoxes.

The other Radio Inconfidencia shortwave frequency, 6010 kHz, has apparently been off the air for several months. Not heard recently during checks on various online SDRs in Brazil, or reported elsewhere.

BRazilians have come and gone very qiuetly on SW. Brasil Central just quietly disappeared from 11815 and 4985 9 m,onths ago or so.

A station popped up around.. 15415? I think it was.... for a few weeks with no fanfare and disappeared as quickly and quietly.

I checked a SDR in São Paulo a few minutes ago, and only heard six Brazilian signals on SW: 5940, 9665 and 11750 from Radio Voz Missionaria, the two EBC outlets on 6180 and 11780, and Inconfidencia on 15190.

No sign of Radio Nove de Julho on 9819, which had been fairly regular earlier in the year.

4985 was the first to go in January, then the 11815 transmitter went haywire a couple of months later and was pulled from service. Reportedly the station is going (or has gone) all FM.

That got a few reports on SWDX forums. Supposedly it was a brief reactivation of a shortwave outlet which enabled the station to apply for an FM license. Name escapes me.

I think the 15415 was a Clube named station of some flavor. From what im told, it was a misinterpretation of AM to FM conversion.... like actual AM not an AM Mode signal.

Ive heard 9819 quite a few times earlier this year
