Tucson/Phoenix's JJ & R nominated for BEST MORNING SHOW OF THE YEAR by R&R! KRQQ nominated for BEST STATION of the year!

I checked this week's R&R dated July 25. Tucson radio has a total of 6 nominations. KMXZ has 3, KRQQ has two and KFMA has one:

KRQQ, KFMA and KMXZ all nominated for Station of the year in their format categories

Jon Jay and Rich/KRQQ and Bobby Rich/KMXZ both nominated for Personality of the year in their formats

Leslie Lois/KMXZ nominated for Music director of the year for adult contemporary

KCMT was also nominated and won for Latin Station of the Year. Tucson Business Journal had it this week:

The award goes to...

Bobby Rich, of the Journal Broadcast Group’s Mix-FM KMXZ 94.9-FM, beat out radio personalities in Boston, Dallas, Detroit, Seattle and Portland, Ore., for personality of the year on an adult contemporary station. It was among four awards brought home by Tucson stations from the industry’s Radio & Records conference this month. Mix-FM also won the station of the year award among adult contemporary music stations in markets 51 to 100, Clear Channel’s KRQ 93.7-FM won the same award among hit music stations, and Lotus’ La Caliente KCMT 102.1-FM won it in the Latin category.

Once again, KRQ’s Johnjay VanEs and Rich Berra lost out to Los Angeles-based Ryan Seacrest as hit music station personality of the year.

Any mention of Cool's Alan Michaels?

He has been doing morning drive in Tucson for many years much like Bobby Rich.

No, Alan didn't get nominated, don't think he ever has been. I think in terms of consistent morning drive performance Bobby beats Alan. I recall that Alan did mid days and afternoons for several years while Bobby has done mornings on 94.9 since about 1994? Now that i think of it--is there any one else who has been doing mornings longer in Tucson? Max has been since about 1995? Who else has been around that long? Must be somebody?

I read that as: Max has been since about 1955. I need a nap.
What about Bednarek? How long has he been on?
