R&R is going out of business

No Curt, print is the dying medium! I have to say, I am surprised that they didn't find a way to continue with an on-line subscription based model. Nevertheless, the chart sector of their business is sliding into billboard which is owned by the same company.

Better Music, Y95!

Gonna be interesting to see what direction music radio goes. All those frequencies - Are they all turning a profit? I sure as heck do miss it tho!!

Sure hope this outfit doesn't go out of bidniss...then Nurse Jeff and I'd have to find real jobs!

I'm sorry to see Radio and Records pass away. I remember how we'd read it cover-to-cover back in the day. We were lucky to have been in the business when we were. What fun it was, and what great memories we have now. Radio and Records was one memorable part of it all.

To me, R&R was THE bible in music charts.
And the "On the Move" section was fun to read to see names that were familiar.
Not to forget the "help wanted" ads.

"WKRP in Cincinnati..."

RIP R&R, as I remembered you.

Truth be told, R & R's demise has little to do with the state of the radio medium or the state of the print medium. Rather it has everything to do with the fact that R & R got purchased by the owners of Billboard. Not much point in competing with yourself.

Consolidation often benefits the businesses involved but rarely benefits their customers. Radio people know that better than most people do.
