Radio and Records reports that Houston rimshot KIOL is flipping to Variety Hits as 103.7 Jack FM at 10:37 a.m. CDT, with new call letters coming as KHJK. Those calls are, at the moment, parked on a construction permit owned by Cumulus in South Dakota.

There's plenty on this on the Houston board, but the flip went down as expected this morning at 10:37 a.m. CDT.

Last KIOL songs:
Tom Petty "Last Dance with Mary Jane"
Foreigner "Cold As Ice"
*LINER* "Your world will change after this next song is over"
Jimi Hendrix "Fire"

Debut of 103.7 Jack FM

Rolling Stones "Jumpin' Jack Flash"
Prince "Let's Go Crazy"

I listened until about 10:40, that's all i could stand. I really wish they would bring back the old Houston rock 103.7, with Outlaw dave, and Walton and Johnson.
I can safely say I will not listen, and therefore will not support their sponsors.

And I can safely say they're not going to be the least bit worried. The ratings were abysmal; they had to do something. (Yeah, the signal sucks, aand that didn't help matters.)
