Re: PMS

I'm going with neutral observer again on this one.

This isn't about two sides to an issue. It's about the disagreement that the "issue" is what one claims it is.

There are the opinions and views that you have.

Then there is the truth that those opinions and views aren't validated by evidence.

And I looked PMS up for you...not exactly sure what that has to do with the price of eggs, but I looked it up anyway...it's doubtful that applies to any of us posting

but that is just my opinion.

Re: wow!

It's been obvious that the thread caused frustration.

I think it's passionate that someone can hold their "view" so closely and want to defend it.

But yes, there is much difference between views and opinions and actual fact.

I liked the examples he gave at one point...at least that was an attempt to show how those views came to be. Even if those examples still didn't prove the theory correct, at least they was an attempt.

Thanks for joining in the threads!

You obviously misread the post...again.

And as usual are misreprenting what I said in the thread in your reply.

And if you are running a radio station to please yourself...might want to consider another crash course in RADIO 101.

Do you have any proof that this is the internet way of begging for the beating to stop or is this just a theory, as you love to put it.

Hopefully, he'll end it

I have been trying to end this garbage. However, you love to reply with these dumb remarks like the one above.

and give us all the opportunity to relax and enjoy Christmas now....

Again, you are the one that wants to keep this going or you are hoping that I will back out so you can feel that you have accomplished something for once. You have the choice to relax and celebrate your little Christmas thing or continue to battle. I don't celebrate Christmas or any other holiday. So, it does'nt matter to me.

Another assumption from you that I would be so "dumb". I didn't misread the question but obviously you skirt around the questions when they are asked to you.

"There you go again, defining people and music by the color

I didn't do the defining, you must not be able to read and perhaps YOU need to sign up for reading 101. These are definitions set up by the industry you love.
This post was dealing with the ridiculous bantering of neutral observer and radio fan about not using black gospel as a a format name which Arbitron and other industry ogranizations seem to have no problem doing. I didn't name all the black Gospel stations that call themselves that, but you can do the homework yourself also check out the ones that define themselves as playing black music. It's not a bad word but obviously you have a deep rooted problem with it.
Racial reconcilation is knowing who you are, where you came from and not caring. The obvious is there but in everyday life color is not seen on anyone. I live my life like that but as I am pointing out, the industry doesn't concerning formats and music and it seems to be primarily in the Christian division. I don't see that big of a separation in the secular division of radio.
Of course I can expect a tunnel vision response from you, never getting to the deeper things just whining about using the word "black".

No....no "assumption." It's a conclusion!

See, you've *already* told us what you do...you do what you "feel" "should" be
done. Not a single time -- not once! -- in this thread have you spoken about what
your listeners want. Again, not once! Instead, you've frequently said
what *you* "feel" "should" be done!

You are creating a radio station to please yourself!

And, strangely, feeling you're doing something noble.

Re: wow!

"I have been trying to end this garbage. However, you love to reply with these dumb remarks like the one above."

Yes Radio Fan it seems you have hit on something, don't worry, you won't be hearing them on the radio, they have no time to talk (perhaps they talk and type at the same time)
I left also then found my mail box filled with radio-info "slams" from these two. They must have no life, If we use their way of finding truth then their many jobs they boast of must be false because these responses come pretty quickly. Even when I left I was baited by "E" with ridiculous responses that you just had to reply to.

Re: whatzthat

>

I am on the floor roaring. Unbelievable! I don't have to prove anything to you. My proof is heard 24/7.
What station do you run by the way? I won't hold my breath for an answer. You and "E" want answers from the rest of us but you just slip around the questions we ask.

Re: Topic /Black

> This post was dealing with the ridiculous bantering of

To make this easily understood by all, I frequently hear "gospel," of course,
but I can't recall hearing "black gospel." Obsessed with color, you may say and
hear it all the time; I don't.

> I didn't name all the black Gospel stations that call themselves that...

I don't know any that call themselves that.

> The obvious is there but in everyday

LOL!

You can't help but see it, hear it, and label it at every single occurrence!

LOL!

You reveal yourself and your knowledge of and skill in the industry again, and,
yet again, you demonstrate that you are completely incapable of anything but
top-down thinking!

You clearly think that what you hear on the radio is the result of what radio
wants; it still never occurs to you that the listeners are in
charge of what comes out of the speakers, not any "division" of radio!

I keep trying not to come out and say what it is you need to understand...I keep
hoping you'll figure it out for yourself (best way to learn). However, it
appears that you are completely unable to get past your fixation on skin color
and philosophy of "no black artists = no black listeners" that you will never
learn anything or figure anything out.

Hey, just curious: when was the last time you learned something...you
know, something new that didn't match what was already in your brain??

> Of course I can expect a tunnel vision response from you,
> never getting to the deeper things just whining about using
> the word "black".

LOL!

I have never seen more "tunnel vision" from someone who claims more than
twenty years of experience than I have from you!

Re: whatzthat

> I don't have to prove anything to you. My proof is heard 24/7.

Not by as many as might if you actually bothered to pay attention to what your
listeners want rather than simply what you think "should" be on.

However, you say you're doing a CHR, and you probably know CHR better than we do.

So, despite serious reservations concerning your reliance on what *you* "feel"
"should" be on over having an idea of what your potential listeners really want,
I'll be happy to give you the benefit of the doubt.

Now, will you do the same for us regarding the AC format?

Re: Topic /proof

" I don't know any that call themselves that."

You are truly "ignorant".(said with love).
I just gave you the info from Arbitron and other organizations.
This is the proof that you actually could be wrong.
This is another example that you really don't want proof,
you just want to argue and argue your time away.
You think everyone should take radio lessons from you and Neutral Observer.
Boastful people better be careful lest they fall and continuing this way,you
are in for a good one. You are truly arrogant and can't
see beyond your prejudices.
Let's just sum this up. If I had a problem with race I
wouldn't be complaining about some not getting a fair deal.
I would be like you; everything is fine and nothing should
be changed. The truth has come out about how you feel.
Also your maturity has been exposed, you are not able to talk
about a deep subject. All you talk about is your knowledge.
There is a saying; those that can't - talk.
Again, what station do you run?

Re: whatzthat

> Now, will you do the same for us regarding the AC format?

Are you playing Antonio Neal on AC? I think I asked this before.
Are you adding music that is released to your format that is
well produced, good message but a little urban (no more urban than
Stacie Orrico) but again released to your
format. Do you find yourself saying "no this one is too "urban"
(in place of a descriptive word that will upset "E" but again
released to your format)? Are you a leader or content to just
follow everyone else? If you are a leader, I will leave you alone.

Re: Topic /Black

" I don't know any that call themselves that."

I personally use the word Gospel myself instead of black gospel
but I hear others in the industry use it often.

I guess I have to do the homework:
Proof you want, proof you will have:
BlackGospel Radio located on 365.com. & also http://www.blackgospelradio.net/blackgospelradio/

Here's more:http://wbgs.pjpradio.com/ WBGS - The Black Gospel Station
& Black Gospel Music Resource Directory - http://www.blackgospel.com/links/
A guide to internet websites with more than 700 links to black gospel sites all over the internet
more:
BlackChristian.com Gospel Music Featuring music that speaks to everyday Christians.

WXOK is a Black Gospel outlet licensed to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Citadel Broadcasting Corporation station broadcasts at 1460 kHz with a ERP of 5 kW-D/1 kW-N power.
& :910 WNDC-AM (Black Gospel)/ 1460 WXOK-AM (Black Gospel /91.5 KGRM-FM (Adult R&B, Black Gospel, Jazz) & even AOL.com/BlackVoices

The reason that the word "black" is used is to distinquish it from the other gospel format "southern". They are both considered Gospel.

Re: ?

Um... I don't who you are talking to...

Your post replied to neutral_observer, but then you refereneced him in third person... so...

But I'll chime in... I think the positioners of the stations you cited should not be used.

They define based on skin color, and that seems wrong.

Um... here is exactly what you said about this:

radioelizabeth to RadioFan:
"Perhaps one day, you will be running a radio station and please yourself."

whatzthat in reply:
"Well gee, some of us are doing that..."

If it is an assumption...I'd venture to guess it's a very good one.
