Rachael Vs Guy Celebrity Cook-off is a sham

If you used something called a search engine you would have found out that Taylor Dayne is a pop singer from Long Island who had some big hits in the late '80s/early '90s.

The other females -- not just one -- you're referring to are: Summer Sanders (Olympic gold medalist) and Alyssa Campanella (former Miss USA -- now you can say "who?") Another singer, former teen idol Aaron Carter, was on the show when it started.

When I see the Food Network, I always imagine Jacques Pepin, Julia Child, Jeff Smith, even Lydia Bastianovich, the kids from Cook's Country, and sometimes even Katie Brown (she comes on a subchannel here), and they are all standing behind a railing high up above the Food Network productions, giving the 'chefs' the Bronx cheers, raspberries, slapping their backsides, mocking them by air-flipping an air crepe pan, that kind of thing. And they alternate saying "We're PBS cooks. Food Network can suck it!" during every break in taping.

Of course, when the camera comes back on, they are all professionals, and they just mock them silently.

The celebrities on Food Network's Rachael Vs Guy Celebrity Cook-off are celebrities from the F-List. Since I don't get Food Network today was the first time I saw this show. (I saw it at my mom's).

1. Joey Fatone
2. Coolio
3. Cheech Marin
4. Lou Diamond Philips
5. Taylor Dane (who?)

And another woman who I had no idea who she was.

You must be under 25, as I knew who all of those people were without Google. Heck, I think I still have my Gangsta's Paradise cassette in a box somewhere. :D

Though I am also annoyed with the cook offs and the Iron chef type shows, Food network is great with shows like Diners, drive in's and dives, Bobby Flay's
Throwdowns, and Paula Deen (I lived in the South and love Southern cooking). I also love the PBS stuff especially Julia/Jacques and Cooks Country.
Food Network is a major cash cow but their new Cooking Network is nowhere near up to par.......as expected Bitchin Kitchen trying to be a little too revelant has the foul chick with then overabundance of tattoes. Guy Fieri is great as it goes but Nadia G is is pushing the "I'm trying to be so hip" beyond the pale.
My expectations were very low when I heard the name of the show being bitchin kitchen as to appeal to the lowest common denominator.
Stopped watching Rachael Ray because I couldn't stand hearing her say my potatoes....my garlic.... my butter...my milk...my spinich.....my salt ...my pepper to put in my pie or my this or my that ever again.

They wouldn't know what to do with instructions in a cookbook from the 1940s or 1950s.

Taylor Dane was a crossover R&B/pop singer from the 1980s. However, I am over 25, so I would know whom all of those people were including Taylor...

She probably sells all those branded products, so she was just getting in a subconscious plug (not like the whole show isn't a plug to begin with).

gee, I guess maybe then I should not have bet February's mortgage payment on the outcome...
