Radio 1 weekend in Ibiza

A little late for this post, but perhaps they've have it on playback. It started at 7 with Judge Jules, then at 7 30 EST an hour long retrospective of Radio 1, Dance and Ibiza. All times are based on listening over Sirius, not the R1 website.

If you're a dance fan, give this a listen if you can (on replay on the site). Proof that R1 IS the best dance station on the planet....ever.

LOL and yet Radio 1 isn't even a Dance station :)

LOL....So true guys,,, So true....

On a local level, 15 years later, the BBC 1 Ibiza broadcast reminds me of the B96/Eddie and Jobo live broadcasts from the 1, 2, 3 Club in Chicago that were mixed by Julian Jumpin' Perez and Bad Boy Bill. This is an absolutely FANTASTIC club culture experience without actually being there! Very smart for Sirius to license the rebroadcasts in my opinion. I know if I had XM right now, I'd be quite jealous!
______________

Re: Flying to Ibiza

Hey guys:

For giggles, I just checked airfare from Chicago to Ibiza and was shocked! I can get a roundtrip ticket between Chicago/Madrid/Ibiza for $617 on Iberia and Air Europa airlines! Talk about cheap! Who's going? lol

Re: Flying to Ibiza

That's not that bad really. I'm sure it's expensive in Ibiza, how could it not be.

All I can say is WOW. Listened to Dance Anthems live from Ibiza... amazing radio. As cheesy as this may sound... BBC1 just put the fun back into driving around town. Its almost like I cant wait to drive somewhere so I can "choon" in.

I give Sirius a HUGE thumbs up for coming up with this idea.. I bet XM is kicking themsleves in the ass for not thinking about this before them.
______________

> Yep, you can bet that for a fact. I know what you mean about it putting the fun back into driving around. Their live mixshows, for some reason, sound local, I mean it makes you feel like your driving round the U.K Mate. Damn, I even starting to get a british accent, and picking up on their slang. lol ha ha

just some help with ur brit stuff

"mash it up"
"it's banging"

you got that right... it's nothing new either. Don't get me wrong, I've got Sirius and I love having R1 in my car now, but I've been listening to R1 for almost 7 years, regliously at one point. A friend of mine in the UK used to record the essential selection on casette tapes then mail them to me at the end of each month :) I've still got the shoeboxes full of em ;)
