Radio 104.1 and their problems?

Has anybody noticed the strange goings on at 104.1 FM? "Radio 104.1" as opposed to "FM 104.1" and their equipment sounds like it's failing with each song. I think even the call letters have changed. Was this all because of the station being sold recently? ???

What problems? I think the station sounds better than it ever has, maybe the frequency just isnt used to being programmed by actual people, its a nice change to see the station not being run by the clowns at crapchannel who I wouldnt trust with a potato gun ;D never mind a 50,000 watt station! Congratulations to John Fuller, Thanks for bringing WMRQ back, Good Luck in Hartford!

Everything sounds wonderful. I like it already. I hope they can fix those audio problems. Now then, since they're no longer under CC's thumb, does this mean they'll be in their own studios soon? The ID also mentioned that the HD is back as well. Interesting. :)

I don't know how you can call a radio station sounding better than it has in 10 years a problem!

What I had meant, but didn't have time to correct, was in reference to the audio problems they were having at the time I posted.

"WURH is out and WMRQ is back, but the call number remains the same — 104.1."

"Call number." Dont'cha just love it when general assignment reporters have to deal with anything the least bit technical, even mid-20th century technology like FM? ::)

That may very well be the case, but for those who hate Clear Channel (me!), it'll be a breath of fresh air. :)

WWCO-FM, WIOF, WYSR, WMRQ, WPHH, WURH and WMRQ...did I forget any of 104.1 FM's incarnations here? :p

Cheap Channel is GARBAGE!!!!! A poorly run company with a bunch yahoo hicks from Tx running it. They were a disgrace under Lowery Mays and his son is a bigger baffoon than him. CC is on the verge of financially tanking into the broadcasting abyss. Maybe Mark Mays will have better luck running a sanitation company or better yet a one man incinerator plant. ;D

I think I mentioned somewhere else on this board.Radio 104 is the equivalent of AM 1220 WQUN was been through over the years.WCDQ,WSCR,WNNR,WPLR2,Women Radio and some other I can't remember as I writing this post.

How about WDEE. I recall that as WCDQ they sounded a lot like what KC101 eventually became. Next came, I think, WOMN followed by PLR2 (what was that, anyway?), then WSCR satellite Country, Oldies WNNR, and now WQUN.

I don't live in New Haven, so I can only guess. Have they filled that niche that once belonged to WELI?

I remember John "Cadillac" Saville pulling a regular airshift on WSCR, so it wasn't 100% birdfeed. IIRC, the "SCR" in the call stood for "Suburban Country Radio."
