Radio Benefits the Hungry

It seems that Triad area radio stations are all going in togther in a huge remote to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank. There are 2 big events next Friday and Saturday. One is at LJVM and one at GSO Coliseum. All the radio stations will be airing the same produced promos about stamping out hunger in the Triad. The GM at Entercom, Brent Milar, got the ball rolling and approached everyone about doing this together. It's great that our area radio stations can put their competition aside to do something that will benefit so many families who are in need. Makes me feel proud of radio.

My hats go off to every station that will participate in the Triad, i wish more would
do this, especially during the Christmas season.

If oly somehow, all the stations in the area could come together to help out a cause like this.

Guess I didn't explain this well, but that's exactly what's happening! Clear Channel, Entercom, Davidson Broadcasting, Curtis, GHB Radio, Truth Broadcasting, and more are all doing this together. I think it's cool that they are banding together for this very worthy cause.

;D Wonder if I could get a ham and a couple of turkeys?

;D Ya mean they can't? Reckon I can get a ham then???

So does anyone have any early info on the success of this grand scale food drive. On Day One as a group we collected 16,ooo pounds of Food and $8,000. I was impressed. I heard that the 1st hour of today yeilded as much as yesterday, but that was at 11:00 ... I would really like to know the end result. Yesterday was fun ... like a High School Reunion .... it was also interesting seeing fierce competitors enjoying eachother and their listeners. Good Job Radio ... this is what it is really about.

Informed sources say, enought food and money collected to feed 150,000 people.

pretty cool.....radio working together works for the community.

Great idea and it came off without a hitch.

::) ;D Did My girl Maycay Beeler have a hand ? in this or was she lifting weights?? hahahah
