Radio Billboard Advertising

Just as I really was getting to enjoy the fact that there were no more of those Bob & Tom billboards around town, there has appeared a new 97.1 billboard with the same old ugly Bob & Tom caricatures that made 102.9's image seem so low rent all those years. Charlie Brown said it best when he said, *Sigh*.

agreed, They are littering our skys with ugly radio billboards. The other 97.1 WRQQ billboards are nice with the red and blue, but with the BOB AND TOM----> :(

but the new 97.1 boards do what they're supposed to do:
one easy-to-read message that you can understand at 60 mph.

ugly? yep.
to the point and easy to read. yep.

Yeah, you're right, of course. It's just that I wouldn't think they'd want the message to be "We have a cheap, ugly radio station." That's what I get out of it, same as I did when 102.9 ran similiar billboards.

But then, what do I know? I thought the Buzz's new billboards were great -- then they ran the snipe banner across the girl's eyes and now every time I drive by, instead of thinking of everything that rocks, I just think "why did they put that there?"

Billboards generally are designed to deliver a short message, so from a brevity standpoint I understand the Bob & Tom on 97.1 billboards. Though, when I first saw it, I wondered if a change was being planned for WRQQ's imaging, since it is unusual to see a station mentioned only as "97.1" and not anything else.

well, there station name is 97.1 WRQQ.
I don't think a image change is coming because they just had one in May or March (one of the 2)
