Can we talk about radio again?

Seems the subject got off track. I'm all about a good theological discussion...but that isn't why I come to this board...

How about a few comments from a few programmers, etc. on some of the new currents?

:)

These have to be some of the best songs right now:

Monday Morning "Wonder Of It All"

awesome song, came out around end of December and screemed up the charts, a lot of people love this one, specially with everything going on in the world.. great message and great reminder.

Jessie Daniels "The Noise"

Love this one, Very uptempo, I think it proves against that conception that "Christian music is boring" Cant wait for her album to drop in May.

Seventh Day Slumber "Oceans From The Rain"

These guys could easly do Mainstream I think, awesome sound and awesome group, I have had a lot of unsaved people ask me "that's a Christian band" ?

Aaron Shust "My Savior My God"

I dont know much about Aaron I admit, but I do think this song will scream up the charts, It could easly go #1.

Krystal Meyers "Fire"

Awesome song!!! This girl is amazing for 17!!! This is one of those that makes you feel good and just plain out rocks!!!!!

Well that's my two cents on some new music, maybe not what your lookin for but hey at least its not the usual scheduled forum banter "why did EMF get that" "Why did someone do that"

Blessings,

Hey if you want to talk about Christian radio may I suggest www.hisair.net

or our recent addition of The Christian Radio Feedback Room containing interesting articles and comments from radio people....http://christianradiofeedbackroom.blogspot.com/

I'm interested in how this song broke. It is a great song but from my understanding Aaron's CD Anything Worth Saying is on a small, indie label based in Atlanta. Did a promoter send it around or how did MD's hear it?

You're a week late. Or early. It's one of the two.

It was sent to us and it is also for download on Promo Only, this is actually Aaron's second release and both are outstanding!
I agree, Monday Morning is awesome - I hear a little bit of U2.
Sarah Brendel from Germany is pretty good too. Anyone heard her?
Plumb is doing great with "Better" and now has a new release "Bittersweet" - Plumb is very much a favorite in my neck of the woods.
What do you think of the new Mercy Me "So Long Self"? Not quite sure how I feel about it, great lyrics but nothing surprising.

Sarah's awesome, I wish more would spin her stuff.. Confused, Turn and Fire all where amazing songs but did not really go far here in the US.

Plumb's new cd has been long over due....and is finally here, Most sure her best yet!

Different sound for MercyMe, more rockish than their past stuff, Not growing on me yet, will be interesting to see how the different sound will do for them.. I know they said they wanted to put out a younger rock sounding album for their next release.

When talking about music, I should made myself more clear, I was going off the CHR format, not AC. Your right, Aaron is very close to #1 on the AC chart, I was refering to the CHR... sorry.

It's cool that Sarah goes up the charts in Germany with Christian lyrics. They have no division between Christian and mainstream. I love her music! Also love Charity Von's!
Speaking of Mercy Me, I remember an earlier song on their yellow project that sounds similiar in style to this new one, it might have been their first release before "I Can Only Imagine" - In my humble opinion :) their new one could be heavier.
We just did an interview with Plumb(Tiffany)about a week ago (out of the blue). She is one cool lady! A very enjoyable time.
Do you play 3 The God Way "Klap Ya Hands", it's one of our most requested songs.

Well, Jimmy Fortune, Ex Tenor with the Now-Retired Statler Brothers, has gotten some play on Southern Gospel Stations with two songs he's written 'He's Gettin me Ready" and "Take me There" While I havent heard him on radio in my area, I havce seen him in concert and he is excellent..very fan-friendly and very classy besides. Info on his solo career, including the 2 cd's he has out now.
