Radio Caroline?

Tucson appears to have a new pirate that calls itself Radio Caroline. It's on 103.3 which is the same frequency once used by defunct pirate Radio Limbo. Caroline appears to have very low power (maybe 10 watts) and it is relatively strong around Speedway and Wilmot. Programming is automated with regular time checks and "desert weather" reports. Music is pretty conservative with some jazz and other low-tempo fare that will help people fall asleep. The Caroline jingles may have come from the famous European pirate.

Ah yes, I remember hearing "Radio Caroline North on 199"

A little driving around reveals that Caroline is strongest in the vicinity of Tanque Verde and Sabino Canyon Roads. Very likely the ship is docked within a few blocks of that intersection.

I picked it up on the car radio Friday and Saturday evening
at Broadway and Harrison, but it was a weak signal.

Interesting selections played. Enjoyed Green Onions this morning, followed by a show tune. Actually hope they can hang on for awhile. Interesting to note that "underground radio" now refers to something appealing to the over 35 age group. Spotty reception along Houghton, better between Golf Links and Catalina Hwy. Ran an "ad" for some auto shop on 22nd. How long do these things run typically?

Wouldn't it be somewhere near the Sabino Canyon and Cloud intersection?
