Radio Co-Host Wanted Tampa

Let me make myself perfectly clear. THIS DOES NOT INVOLVE YOU OR ANY POTENTIAL APPLICANT TO PAY EVEN 5 CENTS. NOTHING. I know there are a lot of scams out there but know what I say above is the way it is. This could be a true chance for somebody to get on the radio with a top station in the 18th market of the U.S. - the big leagues Try to join in or just watch it happen. Your choice. It will be covered by all the press and is why we will not disclose details until we are ready. You will understand soon but it will be when we are ready and can make the most of the possibilities. Let your best interests be your guide.

Look, I've already worked for a lot of years in the 18th rated market and I really doubt there's anything you have to offer that would interest me. However, you are welcome to come back here and crow about your success and how we all missed out when you hit it big.

We would have to ask him/her, "Which #18 Market?"

It could be the Tampa Market. But in the latest round of Market Size Roulette, Long Island's Nassau/Suffolk is #18 and Tampa is #19, again.

And, I ain't goin' to New York for anything!

(well, almost, anything...)

Todd Schnitt has announced his last show on 970 will be December 18th but the syndication will continue.

The tweet I have looks genuine.

Now, I wonder if there are some dots to connect, here...

What wasn't been mentioned are the replays of the Schnitt Show on 1250 WHNZ.

If memory serves me (and it fades daily) wasn't there a similar post a while back?
IIRC (same AM static in my brain too Frank) occasionally Mr Bill would put a post on looking for sponsors or angels that would bankroll the Mr Bill show on Tan Talk. That was my first thought when reading the original post. I guess we just needed to "stay tuned" for more information.

Ah yes, Mr Bill. That as my first thought as well, but I asked him like 5 minutes after reading the original post, and he said it definitely wasn't him. Whoever it is, I wish them luck, if they're looking for talent here, they came to the wrong place. ;D

That what others said but I hoped that maybe I might find some talent right here..

You are very observant. We have advertised in a number of places which hit during different dates. Accordingly, the absolute deadline is this Wednesday.

Having been an employer and have hired many over the years this thread is odd and amusing. When my station had an opening we HAD to abide by the EEOC regulations. Then after posting the position, we would review the applicants and document each one as to gender, race, and the source that produced the applicant. Would we post on a discussion board? Possibly, however, would never do a back and forth debate as to are we real or not as is happening here. Having said all this, and if it is legit, it would have to be a brokered sort of thing as every broadcast company is aware of the hiring do's and don'ts.

Frank is correct.

Frank is correct. I'm sure this is a guy who wants a cohost to help carry the load and go out and get a couple advertisers to pay for his brokered program. Real companies don't troll the boards looking for talent, especially with a moniker such as IWANTONTHERADIO ...

You are right about one thing. Maybe it was a mistake to go to the boards to try to get applicants. You see I had hoped we would find some talent within the industry. After all, since 2008 our industry has laid off over 50% of its employees. All I was trying to do was try to get some of the back in a small way. People warned me of the cynicism on the boards. I should have listened. This is my last communication in this regard. I wish you all the best of luck.

From what I've heard anyone who posts a legitimate opening these days on any of the major trade sites gets swamped with qualified to over-qualified applicants. Sometimes the traditional way of doing things is the best way.

A handle on the boards should reflect who they are. "Iwantontheradio" reflects what he wants, not who he is. If I were looking, I would contact him because I had the position open. I would not contact him/her looking for a position.

I would contact somebody, such as "jerkyboy33707", first. He is telling you his hook. And his zip code in the handle.

Mine is my name, the fact that it has the word "bad" in it, is a bonus.

Most of the handles are reflective that way on the boards. It is not cynicism, it is real.

Whats worse, some dope offering the 'career of a lifetime' on a message board, or 4 pages of replies? it is kind of funny, though.

Well, I guess when this 'really big player that someone brought down from Market #10' reveals himself from behind the curtain, we will all be REALLY REALLY impressed and bow before our radio's and marvel at his wise counsel. We will all be disappointed in ourselves for not recognizing the majesty of his experience, intelligence, and ability to bring TAMPA radio from winds of chaos.

By the way----maybe he will wait until 12/21/12 to reveal himself. Maybe he is Mayan? wow. how cool!
