They called me once - as an instructor. Student never materalized. The one guy who called me never called back - even when I suggested he apply for a part-time job.
Rather than trying to buy your way into the business, do what most of us have done - go find a part time job somewhere - and climb your way up the ladder. You may have to go to one of the smaller towns outside Charlotte. You can learn a lot.
Truth is, most good radio jobs are filled by someone on the inside!
You should spend some money money on your education, Take a couple of computer classes at the area technical college. Maybe take a business course, maybe a marketing class. You can do continuing ed classes in the evening for $50-$75.
Sharpen your computer skills! Learn the basics, learn office programs, graphics, web design software - all of it will help your skills in overall computer operation! So much of radio these days is based the computer - automation, digital audio playback, digital editing, marketing to e-mail databases, website connections!
