Radio covering West Virginia flooding

So far, 44 of West Virginia's 55 counties have been declared under a state of emergency by Governor Tomblin. Other than MetroNews covering this dire situation, I wonder how many stations have the wherewithal to adequately cover the event, or if they are deferring to MetroNews. Surely area stations can interview their Emergency Management officers to see what specific needs their listeners require.
 
I wonder how many stations are undamaged and have power or a back generator. I have sat in a studio waiting for the electric to come back on during an emergency a couple of times. It is frustrating. As now some broadcasters are using internet tunneling protocol boxes for their only STL. So they will have to wait for internet service to be restored too. The EAS system is suppose to allow emergency management folks to "take over" a station if needed. IIRC it was not used during 911. I hope the officials in WV are a little bit smarter and utilize the local stations if needed. Due to the terrain, cell coverage is not perfect in the worst hit areas. Ancient Modulation sometimes works better than FM* or cellular.

* FM could work better if the class "B" restrictions were not in effect in some areas of the state. Also the Green Bank protection area is very close to a affected areas.
