Radio Decibel Amsterdam Set To Greatly Improve Its Coverage Area

http://www.decibel.nl/amsterdam/

One of three Dance stations heard in Amsterdam (the other two being Slam FM and Fresh FM), Radio Decibel is set to take over all the western signals of City FM Classic Rock on January 1st.

Look at this coverage map. It will give Radio Decibel complete coverage of the Randstad region, the most populated area in Holland, with an estimated population of 6.5 million people. 98 FM Amsterdam, 97.6 Rotterdam, 98.5 Utrecht. This will give it better coverage then Fresh FM!

Right now Radio Decibel is the most adult friendly of the three Dance stations, throwing in the occasional 80 and Disco record every now and then, but I expect those types of records to be gone pretty soon. They'll likely end up with something pure Dance like Fresh FM yet a bit more mainstream sounding.

Just heard the awesome remix to Kid Cudi's "Day & Night" on the station ;D

Alright, the changes are taking place. The Dance classics are thankfully gone, so you'll hear lots of uptempo/energetic House music, some Trance, a bit of Euro, lots of 90s selections, and some Pop/Rock/R&B on occasion. The station is obviously going after both Slam FM and Fresh FM.
Don't be surprised to see their nightly or weekend lineup spruced up to include some global DJ stars. Markus Schulz, Paul Van Dyk, Above & Beyond, Menno De Jong, Judge Jules, Sander Van Doorn, or some other Trance giant may be added to the lineup. DJ Tiesto's show can already be heard on CHR/Pop station Radio 538, Armin Van Buuren's show airs on Slam FM, and Ferry Corsten's show broadcasts on Slam FM.

I still hear classics on this station.. Its good though,, the classics they do play are good... I dont think they should remove all the classics because this was a heritage pirate station from 1977 to 1985, and im sure some of their listeners are left over from the old format.... They wont kill you with an over kill of Disco, but I hear some....But not too many 80s classics on this station,, some 90s as well,,, maybe some,,, not much late 70s stuff.. But I really love this station,,, They are diffinately going after Fresh and Slam,,, it looks like they cover all of Holland on only 3 Frequencys,,, Much more coverage than Fresh, and more powerful signals than Fresh... They are probably trying to cut into radio 538 as well,,, Ive noticed 538 has been playing alot more Dance lately since Decibal is around... In fact 538 is sounding alot like Z-1035,,, kinda how 538 sounded in the late 90s and early 2000s before Slam and Fresh came about....
