Radio Disney jobs?

It seems there is always an ad for sales positions at the Radio Disney outlet in Fort Washington. But my question is do they ever have a need to fill other staff positions like production, programming or operations mgmt? Anyone have insight to the inner workings of this place? I applied for a sales position there a couple of times and have never received a response. Just wondering.

I hear Radio Disney a lot because my child listens. It is all piped in, so scratch programming off your idea list. There may be a need for local production, although I don't seem to hear many local ads on the Phila. affiliate, AM640. There are some for a shopping mall, but most seem to be pumping the latest national Disney products.

I can give you a little insight into that.I am in louisville ky and applied to our radio disney affliate along with other tstaions.Just going to drop off my resume to alot of radio stations well radio disney called me and i talked to them and he was going to hire me as an independent contractor but 2 months went on and he kept telling me he was waiting on paperwork and it just never happened. It was going to be comnmission only.He gave me the run around.I do not here very many local spots here either.Granted i have no experience in sales but it sounded like it was going to work out but it is now july and no word on the paperwork lol

The satttelite feed is out of dallas texas.

I feel they only have two positions.... sales and promotions.

My sister worked for the affiliate in Orlando as a member of the street team.

You sure, I was just raped by the mouse financially for a week in Orlando and Radio Disney studios were in MGM?

Nock

The primary Radio Disney feed does indeed originate from Texas, but some shows are hosted from in-park studios. I know for sure that at least one shift is done from the Orlando studio each day, and (not sure if they still do) at one time, there was a show hosted from an Anaheim studio (IIRC at Disney's California Adventure).

For station promotions, Disney "leases" the studios in the parks to other stations and shows, especially during slower seasons (if there is such a thing.)

Stations or shows can either pay cash or do a barter deal in selected markets to further promote the "franchise."

A great facility in Orlando. A "Solid Gold" oldies show originated from there on Saturday nights some years ago, as has various talk shows, countdown shows, morning shows, etc.

It's quite a production and great promotion for Disney and the stations involved. But not cheap...

Radio Disney originates 100% of its programming from Dallas right now. The Disney/MGM Studios show moved to Texas last year or the year before (maybe longer--time flies) to save money. The studio predates Radio Disney and is still used. The studio in California was in Tomorrowland, and has been changed back to a snack bar, I think, but I'm not sure. It's a shame.

Locally, the major stations have most of their "local" production done by producers at the network for quality control, although there are some spots which are produced locally due to deadlines.
