Radio Disney on 1440?

Any reason why Susquehanna wouldn't barter Radio Disney on 1440?
Disney ratings are typically barely above those of a test pattern, but
seems like a way to print bills on a silent signal.

Tower system is ruined---no provision was made for AM when new FM stick went up. FM is not detuned, nor were the guy wires broken up w/insulators, plus the ground syetm was dug up and ruined. This one may be a goner.

Perhaps so. And the AM band could certainly stand to lose a few more. FCC documents indicate the license for 1440 will expire if the station does not resume operations by November 16th. In late August, Susquehanna filed for Special Temporary Authority. Considering the divestiture of Susquehanna is imminent, could they be keeping the license alive in the event someone may want it? While the current site isn’t useable, there may be other places in the Red Lion vicinity a 1kw AM could be placed. That’s a real Bible Belt area. It could be worthwhile as a repeater for 1250.

Not that I want to give THOSE people any ideas.

Maybe cumulus will snag it and shut it down to put iboc on 1400.<P ID="signature">______________

Without seeing Susquehanna's application (and being too lazy to dig it up), I'm curious where they filed for the STA from. It could be the 910 site, running a fleapower wattage that would somehow get to Red Lion and would somehow satisfy COL requirements. I *believe* that 1440 is still considered a daytimer, so they could theoretically only need to cover Red Lion by day -- and I'm sure 100 watts or even less, non-directional, would be aplenty to do the trick.

4Th adjacents don't count---I'm not even sure 3rd's do anymore. And no, 100 watts wouldn't be close to COL coverage---even 1kw from WSBA's site will not do it.
