Radio Disney on 1640

Is this the only Radio Disney on 1640? If so, I've heard them in Tennessee a couple of times this week.

You are probably hearing WKSH, they come in where I am in Upstate NY pretty much every night.

KDZR is the only RD station on the west coast operating on 1640, that I am aware of. But they only night-part at 1000 watts and they run IBAC. I doubt you'd be hearing it in Tennessee unless you have a really, really good receiver and aerial.

There are 3 Radio Disney stations in the expanded band.
1640 is in Portland (Lake Oswego) OR and Milwaukee (Pewaukee) WI
1690 is in Denver (I forget the city of license)

The 1650 in Norfolk, VA was sold off.

If Mario's picking up KDZR clear down in Vallejo, I'd be stunned. I live just a quick jaunt down 205 from their towers and I can barely hear it at night! I guess they must have a really directional signal that favours the south more than it does north.

(Oh yeah, they keep their IBAC on at night too, but it's basically non-existant up here. Daytime, yeah, not a problem, it's there. But after they drop power, nuh-uhh.)

Its pretty easy to get extended band stations at night with low powers over large distances. Im over 600 miles from WKSH which runs the same format and power levels and yet I get them almost every night. Its very weak and fades out a lot but its there.

A couple of years ago while vacationing in Ontario, Canada I received Radio Disney on 1640. Although I've heard that KDZR has been heard in Ontario at night, I thought this station was from Florida.

I picked RD on 1640 in Central Indiana on Friday night at 1700. Clear as a bell. Also got WSB as a local. Could not get a
ID on 1640, though.
