Radio Disney seems to be having a great 2009

And guess which is the only media company that also owns a record label: Disney. Not an accident.

As I've said elsewhere, the mistake of radio consolidation was not that one company could own hundreds of stations, but that the one company owned ONLY radio and nothing else. CBS is one of the few radio companies that isn't on the brink of bankruptcy. That should tell you something. Radio was not meant to be a stand-alone thing. Disney has been smart to use radio together with its TV properties like The Disney Channel and ESPN.
