RADIO DISNEY SIGNOFF NON-EVENT

KALY 1240, Radio Disney in Albuquerque, has turned off the station pending a sale. They went off last week. It seems Disney is selling off at least some of the stations in the Radio Disney network - they just sold one in Florida as well.

According to CDBS, KALY has sold for $125K to a California based Non-Profit.

Pretty interesting, considering Disney bought it in 2003 for $650K, sunk a ton of money into it with a new transmitter & transmitter building, local studios, HD, then turned it off, and now selling at a loss of $525K. Oh My!

The press release says it will run a format known as "JENNiRADIO," which will be aimed at teens, tweens and families. I don't entirely know what to make of that myself, but you can apparently listen live to it at jenniradio.com. It says it's "For Kids, By Kids."
