I don't know that we can blame A.I.--- @gr8oldies didn't cite a source for what he posted.

Almost all the word-specific errors I find come from Wikipedia, with the Google AI search duplicating or paraphrasing the mistakes there. Google should require confirmation elsewhere and prior to the publishing date on Wikipedia of everything they use that source for to find data.

Okay, but what you posted from Wikipedia and what @gr8oldies said are two different things.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone anywhere say Drake and/or RKO were “out by 1971.”

I only post Wiki content if I have found substantiating facts elsewhere. Wikipedia is, though, easier to read for most casual users.

True, you likely are right that we had a "memory error" here. Analog memory, like recording tape, tends to age poorly.

Somehow I thought this was common knowledge. (Scroll to 1969 and 1970). I'll excerpt. CKLW-AM – The History of Canadian Broadcasting
"The Canadian Radio-Television Commission introduced foreign ownership regulations. CKLW Radio & Television were owned by Western Ontario Broadcasting Co. Ltd., which was owned by RKO Distributing Corp. of Canada Ltd. That company was owned by RKO General Inc. of the U.S."
"As a result, Western Ontario Broadcasting was not an eligible corporation for licence. CKLW-AM-FM and TV had their licences renewed only until September 1, 1970."
"On December 17,(1970) Baton Broadcasting Ltd. was authorized to purchase CKLW-AM and FM from Western Ontario Broadcasting Co. Ltd."
Unless someone has contradictory info, that ended the Drake consultancy. Drake's voice was no longer heard at the top of the hour, and the "Motown package" didn't hit their airwaves.

RKO did not sell until 1989. I think he left KHJ in 1973, not '71. Calling Mr. Hagerty!

In a reply to a 30-line post that mentioned CKLW exactly once along with eight other stations (KHJ, KHJ-FM, KFRC, WHBQ, WOR-FM, KYNO, KGB and KAKC) and primarily focused on KHJ.

But yeah, I forgot that the CKLW divestiture was December of ‘70.
