The DJ is obviously correct that on-air talent isn't treated well at times in this biz but everyone knows that going in, right?
Not sure why this thread is in the New York board as the station in question is apparently in Jacksonville, FL. The departing DJ evidently got replaced by someone called "The Greaseman" who worked there before. Lots of comments on the station web site (WFYV).

You think he'd be scared about not getting a good reference after that - or just resigning on the air isn't enough, lol.
I remember the Inetta resignation. There was also a remix of that resignation floatin' around, too. Check the Alabama section of this board to see if this is still around. Since this occured in 2006, you may have to go deep in that section to get it. I have both the resignation and the remix in my archives.NH Radiochild said:Not really. As mentioned in my previous post, "Inetta the Mood setta" ended up getting JOB OFFERS for her resignation. Some people are not dummies. I think the way he did things took class and guts and was by far well-deserved. Sounded like he was getting overlooked for quite some time. You think he'd be scared about not getting a good reference after that - or just resigning on the air isn't enough, lol.
Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth. (Which could dramatically improve some radio stocks right now, lol.) 8)

Actually, yes I do. Just because the man is pissed off at management doesn't mean he wants to compound problems by potentially having the FCC levy fines against him, OR alienate possible future listeners, of which he seems to care very deeply about.

And maybe another station WILL hire him. I know of jocks who have gotten BETTER radio jobs after being fired from other stations for, among other things, punching out staffers - that's right, as in physical battery punishable by prison time; so what the jock in question as well as Inetta did was nothing more than an updated 21st Century version of the Howard Beale "I'm mad as hell" speech made famous by Peter Finch in "Network" by comparison. The Dude said:TheBigA said:The bad news is this guy will never work again.
Maybe not there but someone else might see the good in him and want to hire him![]()
