Radio Exito 105.5

Im sorry I posted this on the wrong board earlier, but has anyone heard the new Spanish Dance Party Mix channel on 105.5-Radio Exito? It has its studios in Homestead, but its Tower is in like Marathon or something, their 50kw signal looks like it fringes into Key West and South Miami, of course most its signal is over watter. Here's the site http://www.myradioexito.com/ The station seems to be Bilungual. Its not a pirate or anything, but with its Bizzar location, I wonder how they get enough listeners to support the Power bill for 50kw torch, and why is the Studio in Homestead and not in or around the TX Site... Looks like both Keywest and the far south of Miami and Everglades might be able to struggle to hear it. If the signal is really that weak that may likely get blocked out by a Miami Pirate...... The stations music mix isnt bad at all, but I wouldnt take that Tower site if it was given to me.

I am glad to hear a independent locally programmed station is on in the Keys yeah!!! I wish 105.5 much success :)

WOW! Thanks for all of the love...

My guess is the rent is a lot cheaper. There's a religious station located in Key Largo that had the same problem and needed a waiver from the FCC to locate their studios in south Dade. Hell of a DJ lineup, do they have live jocks 24/7?

That may be so, but there is probably more business in South Dade. I once heard a person comment that the only market in the US worse than the US Virgin Islands is the Florida Keys market.

Thats both probably true, but they seem to take note of Cuba especially during live Mix Shows, with mentions of Cubas's in the House... You reckon that signal really makes it to the North Shores of Cuba, maybe Havanna????? It is a 50kw stick located out in the Ocean, so that means it could make it there much easir than the Miami Dade stations... I already know for a fact that you can sometimes get WEOW 92.7 Key West in Cuba, but I dont know if this is an everyday thing or not. Ive also read on this board that power 96 and WIIK 96.9 have been heard in Cuba... All Believable due to the Warm Water DX.. Ive heard Power 96 earlier this year during Sporadic E in Indiana, and in 2004 I Dxed Party 93.1 when it was still Dance Music, also heard Island 106 at the same time, A few days later that summer I picked up Y-100 from Miami here in Indiana with a positive ID....

"do they have live jocks 24/7?"

Very close to 24 hours. The jocks are bilingual. Some are from Cuba originally. Some are from other Latino countries.
I was born in Miami, Raised in Ft. Lauderdale and the Keys.
Thanks for listening to us.
