Radio Farda 1575 kHz is up!

I've got a good lock on Persian music over 1575 and a positive ID for Radio Farda, which is the 800 kW RFE/RFA transmitter located in the UAE beamed at Iran (!).

Happy hunting!

on 1575 KhZ some audio trying to fight in.

Its mixing in at times with OldieStar, out of Germany (which I've received on previous occasions). But Radio Farda is certainly the strongest signal at this time.

I've also found a live online feed, to help folks confirm (although I didn't need it when making the catch) ~> http://mfile.akamai.com/2110/live/reflector:20637.asx?bkup=21011

Good luck!

No Farda for me (just a faint carrier here), but I have fair audio coming through right now on 774, Arabic chant music. Egypt is widely reported on 774 but I can't find a web stream to verify against...

It is 5:25 PM & 162 France is booming here in Cincinnati. Very readable signal.

183 Europe 1 in FR sounding like a PQ station.

189 weaker than others but something was present

RMC on 216 also with a nice signal. Two men, talking sports no doubt.

234 RTL w/music.

252 Algeria mixing with Ireland.

1134 Croatia is very strong with female and male anncr.

Trans World Radio, Benin (West Africa) logged last night on 1566 with a strong signal thanks to a tip from another DXer. Religious music with English ID at 10:30pm EST and then into an African (?) language program. I hope conditions are equally good tonight for a better recording...

252 Algeria has been good here too in Michigan later in the evenings with a decent signal (have yet to log Ireland on this freq.)

Good catch, kilokat, as that Benin transmitter is apparently putting out (only) 100 kW. I've been trying to snag AIR (1 million watts...) on 1566, but no luck yet. AIR doesn't stream, making the catch a little more of a challenge. :p

And, ya, I've gotten the Irish, but not the Algerians (yet) on 252...

Armchair copy for the past hour now with Algeria on 252 despite much atmospheric noise on the LW band tonight...Tincap - give them another try and I bet you'll catch them!

I'm getting het and I do hear audio way back in there, but too weak to ID. I'm also getting a lot of static from distant lightening strikes, not a big surprise with this rather large system churning over us (about a foot of snow and now rain dumped on us...).

Nothing in Houston last night - I tried rather late, though. It could have been after sunrise at the transmitting location. I did have some unusual catchs - 1610 with Spanish language announcers and English music, and at least two stations under Cuba on 530 along with a very strong 1k het. No other hets in usual places.
