Radio fireworks stunt snuffed out

Hahaha...in terms of crazy radio stunts in Tampa, its damned if you do and damned if you don't.

They did this stunt back in 2001 and it went off without a hitch. Just a recycled bit that got snuffed out this time around. Boy, did 9/11 change everything or what?

Why does MJ try to justify every wacky stunt he does like it's actually for the greater good? "Oh absolutely. It's about fireworks safety." Please tell me he's being sarcastic. When they made this video, he was saying that he wasn't making fun of the armless woman it was based on, and was in fact glorifying her courage.

A listener didn't call 911 in 2001.

The Power Pig killing a pig?

Once again, a brilliant publicity stunt that they had to know was never going to really happen and now articles in the paper, on the web.

Clear Channels PR department is truly second to none.

A listener probably didn't call this time either. This time the "listener" was probably an intern or something. ::)

PR stunt or not, the whole idea is just plain un-original. I don't know how this "show" still gets the ratings it does. Fireworks safety? Please MJ... you can come up with something better than that.

I think it was paying homage to when Bubba the Love Sponge slaughtered a wild boar on air. PETA went haywire, and somebody pressed charges against Bubba. I think he got off on the excuse that the slaughtering was for food purposes, not animal cruelty.

And now...Bubba gets people lit up on legal hallucinogens on-air at Sirius. Just not sure that would fly at 98Rock.

Ummm. What's wrong with destroying an oven in your own parking lot? I am of the opinion that as long as you don't infringe on the rights to SOMEONE ELSE'S life, liberty, or property. I see nothing wrong. How very lame.

Don't fret Jeff... the oven is now sitting in the back parking lot, just waiting to be use to cook a wild boar. :D (Cross promotion between 93-3, 98 & 103-5)
