Used to be a pirate in Rutland called Radio Free Vermont, 96.5, "Vermont's Hometown Radio
Station". I know, not the same folks. Played standards, PSAs, even ads (for a golf driving range
in N. Clarendon, for one)

>>Sunday found us headed into Vermont, with a drive through Rutland allowing us a few minutes to listen to Radio Free Vermont on 96.5, which actually sounded pretty darned good for the short time its signal was strong (mostly heading east towards the town line on US 4). FMedia! reports RFV had a visit from the FCC a few weeks ago, which ended with the FCC's Victor Taliaferro being asked to leave the property (hmmm...didn't Monty tell us that if the FCC came to call, he'd invite them in for coffee?)

I will say that there are indeed many homegrown Vermont artists out there. Dan Tyminski, a Rutland native, is a member of Allison Kraus' band and was heard in O Brother Where Art Thou.
WIZN's Sun morning blues show host Mr Charlie put out several compilations "Best of the Green
Mt Blues" (benefit for camp/kids with cancer) with local blues artists
