Radio Free Worcester

Great article in this week's Worcester Magazine about Worcester radio by Jeremy Shulkin. The article starts off with the raid on one of the Worcester Pirates, Flava 105.5 and then mentions most of the local radio stations. http://www.worcestermag.com/home/top-stories/Radio-Free-Worcester-150803655.html

Based on my being able to clearly hear the 105.3 Fitchburg translator in Framingham (near the Natick line), I'd imagine that a 105.5 signal in Worcester could soon be receiving an unannounced visit from the FCC. I know that translators are considered secondary services and are largely unprotected, but I think they ARE supposed to be protected from unlicensed pirate signals.

I didn't know Jack Frost started on 105.5 before going to hot 87.7 and i didn't know that he bounced out of there with Chubby Chub to start StreetFixRadio.com.

Of course the main focus of the article and radio industry perspectives relating to Worcester radio were interesting too 8) 8) 8) 8)
