Word from my friend Touchdown is that Michael Runion who was Tommy and Bazzel's producer on the morning show (Overnight Mike) passed away last night as the result of a massive heart attack. Our prayers are with him and the 103.7 family...

Is this the same Mike Runion that used to do mornings on 99.1 and on the old K 97.7 in Searcy when they had the AC formats??

Mike's first job was at KFFB in Fairfield Bay.. He went from there to Batesville, then to K-97 in Searcy... then was the first morning man on Diamond 99.1 when it signed on. From there it was on to Little Rock....

He also had a distinguished military career.

At the funeral today, his family extended thanks more than once to his radio friends who where so good to him. I think the thing that was repeated more than anything was his love of life, and how seriously he took his job.

Very sad turn of events...
