Radio Gotel, Yola Nigeria on 917 kHz

There's ZIZ St. Kitts on 555 kHz, which is also a tweener. It was kilokat who taught me the trick of playing with the BFO Pitch on the DX-440, to bag that 10kW Caribbean oddity.

Found this on YouTube - rather odd that this station is neither in the 9 kHz nor the 10 kHz spacing allocations but nonetheless something else to look for while listening for TA DX:

Nice tip! Angola has an oddball one too on 1088 KHz (instead of 1089). I've actually seen Angola's weak carrier on 1088 a few times, but it's rare and has never been strong enough to carry audio.

I'm looking forward to catching ZIZ again this season. There's nothing better than hearing that Caribbean music during a cold Michigan winter night!

I know it ain't the same, but there's www.zizonline.com :)

BTW believe it or not, I have never heard ZIZ despite living in Florida. WQAM just eats it up.

ZIZ is a regular here in Ottawa at night. Luckily I have 2 radios that can tune in one khz steps. My old analogue will also tune it in no problem.

Same problem with WIND up here....compounded slightly by a pretty decent skywave signal from KTRS on 550.
