Radio H20 arrives in SA

Dallas Morning News calls it Hispanic Top 40. It recently launched on 107.9 up there. "The music so far is predominantly English with a few Spanish songs mixed in. The station is branding itself with H20 standing for 'Hispanic 2.0'."

On 98.5 HD-2.

At least the 5 or so listeners who still listened to the remnants of Party 97.7 now have something better. :p

My gosh, how many Top 40 stations is San Antonio going to have. I have longed for another Oldies channel in San Antonio besides KONO and Standards KAHL. I wrote BMP both Proud and Martin and no response yet. I would be happy if it were on KHHL 103.1

For Top 40
94.1
96.1
98.5 HD2

and the sound too much the same wannabe Classic Rock or Classic Rock
99.5
102.7
104.5
106.7

and then the wannabe Hot AC's and Hot AC's
101.9
105.3

oh don't forget the Religious stations
91.3
93.3
97.7

SA Radio is missing formats much needed. I wish they had the formats Austin carries.

In 10 years, I doubt there will be any stations playing what is now considered Oldies in the market. Oldies listeners have an unfortunate tendency to turn 55 years old, so the music mix has to be skewed younger. We'll probably see KONO adding 80s music to the playlist before the end of the decade.

KONO has been adding early 80s music since last year.

Not only that, but KONO plays more 80's than it does 60's now! I believe 80's amount to 25-30% of KONO's playlist.

Makes sense. I guess it just seems like they're mostly playing 70s music when I listen.

I'll know I'm getting old when I hear Nirvana on there. ;D

KONO is sounding good lately with the tweak and gives me Michael Jackson often. KZEP (usually not on my dial with the mp3-ish compression that makes my ipod scream) gives me Def Leppard. This 80's baby now feels "classic"
