Radio Hall Of Fame Vote?

C

Casablanca

Guest
The Radio Hall of Fame was to have voted on this year's candidates in August or September.

Jess Cain was to be one of the candidates to be considered.

Does anyone know if the final votes have been cast and counted and new Hall of Famers announced?

Anyone have clips of the legend?

KEmore 6- 1510; 2-5-4 56 78; 720- 40-80; 266 -6868....How big is Jerry's section and does it cover his entire radio career?
It would be nice if Boston had its own Hall Of Fame Division and that the Jerry and other Boston broadcasters tribute could be loaned to the Boston museum.

Hope that Jess Cain will be in that Hall Of Fame soon.

Wasn't Jerry's first number in Boston (at the old "new" WMEX in 1957), COmmonwealth 6-3900? I think so.

Cain is one of those personalities who, like certain baseball players, have needlessly been overlooked each time they come to a vote for the hall of fame.
Somewhere around here I have a clip of the Radio HOF induction ceremony (only the intro clip, nothing else)
for Jerry W...I think Nancy Shack put it together. Had stuff like his bumper music, also the old "Do you
disagree" jingle; the conversation with the Vietnam Vet; "your sarcasm is really something, Senator",
and the "Sex Survey" call about the woman who liked to do it on the washing machine ("you're putting me
on...c'mon, you're putting me on--ha ha ha!")...

An Untold Story

WRKO is a month too late on celebrating its 25 anniversary. Actually, Jerry started on September 25, 1981 on WRKO after coming up from Miami. The day before he left Miami Jerry was in the studio alone and was held up at gun point. The robbers took Jerry's ring and watch. One guy said 'let's shoot him' but the other robber panicked and said ' let's get the BLANK out of here'. So, we almost lost Jerry Williams 25 years ago.

unfortunatley the nominations for the 2007 hall of fame were released and Jess Cain did not make the cut this year. It is wrong that the radio hall of fame would not include jess cain.

JESS CAIN IN THE MASSACHUSETTS BROADCASTERS HALL OF FAME

Jess Cain was inducted today into the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame at the Media Gang luncheon at Lombardo's along with Frank Avruch, Paul Benzaquin, Tom Bergeron, Bob Elliot ( of Bob & Ray ), Fred b. Cole, Don Kent, Joyce Kulhawik, Rex Trailer, Liz Walker, Bob Wilson and radio executive Harold Segal. The actual museum is located at Massasoit College.
